I can see where putting them stupidly high can be bad, but I’m serious. For some reason my form turns to shit anything lower than between 36-39 inches. I get lazy and have poor take offs, get cockeyed mid air, etc. Mentally its easier for me to keep focus and form up if I have it at those heights.
On a side note, I still hold my tae kwon do school record for a flying kick over a bar while still kicking the heavy bag. I can’t remember the exact height anymore but it was about eye level. That qualifies as showing off, haha. I blame my needing high hurdles for my hops on the fact that I would do those types of things in class whenever I could for fun.
