Even as a CF "loyalist" if you will (I wouldn't call myself that, but some may), I think it is hard to follow some of his programs strictly without the use of PEDs, or at the very least, without consistent and daily therapy and world class regeneration (whether the means PEDs or not, who knows).
While I agree to a certain extent, what would be the alternative? Less speed work?? More middle int. work??
I do have trouble recovering from sprinting all out 3x per week but what else can be done?
And about "Charlie Francis' training model as pzale mentioned, all we are really talking about is a short to long program which makes sense scientifically and anecdotally. Its even pretty much what USATF coaches ed. teaches and what Mike uses.
