Drove up to Dallas again, this time Ashley Mort was with us for the workout. We used his brower timing system. I had started off running a 4.29 in the 30m from touchpad. Mort had seen that I had some restriction in my hips. He did some quick ART on my medial glute area, that allowed me to lift my knees up a lot easier. The next following runs were 4.23, 4.20, 4.21, 4.18. He was able to take off .11, I wish I could have Mort out there with me at every training session!
The short time I spent in Dallas was interesting. I consider myself lucky to train with two athletes that have far more knowledge than I do. It was worth listening to every word of their conversations. I never would have thought that I would be doing two HI days in a row, turns out that I was fine with handling the back to back days. In the future, I plan on breaking out of these set/planned barriers that I have. It’s not a matter of training smarter, it’s a matter of listening to how my body repsonds to training and making the right decisions.
