I think that program is pretty solid, but in a 4 week block during general prep it has only one week which is very endurance specific. general prep is the best time of the year to really prepare yourself for the special endurance later on, so for at least the first 6 weeks you can keep abit more endurance specific work going on.
This is something i’d probably go with.
Mon: Accel 10-30m reps + gym
Tue: 2 x tempo sessions 1-3km
Wed: Longer reps (or even 600m+ hills) + gym
Thu: Tempo or big circuit (for a month or so then move to accel)
Fri: 3km tempo + gym
Sat: Plyo + 100-150m hills
Sun: 20min run or rest
