I guess I should also tell a little bit about me. I'm a 22 year old male and after a few years of running off and on I want to put forth a good effort to break some old PRs. Of them all, my 17:55 5k PR is the weakest so that is what I'm going to use this fall to try and break. I would like to get it down under 17 minutes(~5:28/mile). This fall I'll also try racing at 8k and 10k a couple times. There won't really be any tapering or anything for a race… I'd like to keep my miles in a decent range(45-50) throughout my makeshift season.
After the fall season is over I'll probably take an easy week and then start back up again and get up in the 70miles/week range for a little while. The other purpose of this fall is to provide and good base so that I can go to a few low key indoor and outdoor meets in the winter and spring and get my track PRs down more. My main focus will likely be the mile because that is what I enjoy most but I'll also get in a few 3k's because I believe that 3k/5k is my best distance. The goals are 4:30 for a mile and 9 mins for 3k. I think that with going into the season with a larger base than I ever have that I should be able to get these PRs FAIRLY easily…. I just hope I'll be able to use an indoor track so I can get in some faster stuff at that time heh.
