Yes, thats the exercise that I mean by RDL. Is a great preparation / teaching exercise for OLs (assuming you want your athletes to lift off the floor of course!). I also find it very useful as a general strength exercise for the whole rear chain.
BTW I also think RDLs are a great specific strength exercise for rotational shot putters (for movement at back of the circle).
It’s possible for some athletes to go very heavy with RDLs, so I limit everyone to a max of 5reps with their OL 1RM. (Quiet a challenge – most won’t get this heavy.)
