Actually, I suggested cassein protein before going to bed. It is digested much more slowly and will help prevent nightly catabolism. However in the event that he didn’t have or couldn’t afford cassein and knowing that he did have whey protein, I suggested that he might (I’m not positive about this) be able to have a whey protein shake with a serving of old-fashioned oatmeal and it might have a similar effect (due to digestion being slowed down by the oats).
