Thanks again everyone for your help. I think I’m finally getting it.
I’m gonna work based on that “accel dev > short speed > maxv” plan and spend around 4-8 weeks on each phase and move on when I feel comfortable.
Weights wise, I’m just gonna work on my upperbody for now and try and tone myself up using one of those bodybuilding routines. I want to look like a sprinter before I start doing Olympic lifts and such. Lowerbody work will come from sprints and plyos.
I ran a 100m today for the first time in about a year. 12.06 FAT was the time. I guess it was okay. Start was poor. Couldnt remember how to set the blocks up. 😛 Forgot to pump my arms too. 🙁 Guess I was to focused on not falling over. 🙂 Apart from the start, things felt good until around 60m, where it felt like I struggled to maintain my speed. Not surprising though seeing I’ve only been doing accel dev in training.
Not a bad run I guess. With no training I’m about as fast as I was last year, which I think is a good thing. Just wanted to let everyone know where my progress is at. Might do another 100m in a couple of months and see how I’m going. Peace.
