I don’t think it makes too much difference, to be honest. Wear something that is comfortable. I have a pair of Zoom Shifts that I use for 400m and for training on any intervals over 100 that I absolutely love.
It’s all about what feels good for you. I would agree though, to avoid something with a full length spike plate for 800’s, as in the 800 you will be heel or flat foot striking the whole time and the sprint spike plate doesn’t have great traction for that.
