For some younger, weaker athletes, this could go beyond a general strength recovery session.
Also, am I to understand that this workout could precede and/or follow an upper body weight session? If so, where’s the recovery?
Agreed. I needed to add the point that the above option is an example. 200 push-ups is a big whale but eating in bites (10 at a time) isn’t that demanding for an elite athlete.

The workout is an example of many different variations. The key is to get something up for people to follow.
If you are benching 300 lbs this is active recovery. If you struggle to bench your BW it is GS! I wouldn’t give this to a HS athlete.
