Review of week 2:
MON
technique work
extensive tempo: 8×200 at 75%, 2min rest
First one was too fast, then 6 slightly late or just perfect, than last one too fast.
So overall i cannot complain.
TUES activation work + endurance (30min, low pace)
WED strength endurance: circuit training with weights. 1 set of 10-12, low rest between exercises (around 8 exercises, compounds)
weights slightly up from last week, but not hard at all.
THURS activation work
Good day
FRI track practice!
tryout!!!
we did:
2km warm-up
stretching
technique drills
2×80, 3×60 accelerations with walk back recovery
3 x 5 x 200 hard and 200 jog recovery, 8 min between sets
I was good at the accelerations, one of the fastest of about 8 people my age.
At the 3x5x400 i did a little less… I tried to stay with the best runners. The first laps were ok, then i got behind but managed to get back in the 200jog. The 2nd and 3rd set i was more behind though.
However, i felt proud because i gave it my best. The other guys said i did a great job as well. Id like to get as fast as them by the end of the season though!
So i think i was the 5th fastest out of 8 guys my age. Not a high level though.
I decided to not do the friday and saturday workout: friday i did not know what too expect from practice so i decided to not do 2 practices 1 day… And saturday i was still a bit tired from friday, especially the 3x5x400. But if i look back at it, i did the friday and saturday workout pretty much in 1 training session… So i did everything anyway.
I will not go to track practices untill 1 november, because thats when my entrance money gets validated (if thats good english). I think it will be mainly endurance that day (it will be a saturday in the fall btw) so i will do more tempo endurance and speed endurance in the winter then.
Overall a good week!
