Not sure where you are going with this, but Pfaff’s ideas are backed by his stories, which he will admit how he has “blown” people up. In my eyes, that is pretty anti-guru in admitting his mistakes and sharing what he has learned along the way. He also does a wonderful job in backing up his theories with science and studies. If Dan’s arguments are taken out of context, maybe there could be some disparity in you are taking in and what he is saying.
As many have stated, most of the people on here look at variety of coaches and sift through the BS. Of course a lot of people want to know what the top guys today are doing because isn’t that what every sport, company, teacher, writer, . . . everyone does?
Can you give specific examples of Dan’s copycats that are screwing it up? . . .
I don’t think anyone on here considers the great coaches mentioned “gurus”. They are proven coaches that go out of their way to help teach younger coaches in the hopes of imparting knowledge. So yes, there are many followers and perhaps we are biased, but it is because these people are willing to help teach, take the time to speak at clinics and log countless hours mentoring.
