I had it pretty bad this season. I wrapped prewrap tightly over the area and sometimes had the trainer do a special wrap and both seamed to help aleviate the pain while competing, even though I could still feel it. Now it’s all but gone since I haven’t jumped in a couple months (because of hamstring injury).
I would also follow davan’s advice of the soft tissue therapy. I asked my ART provider and he said he can help out patellar tendonitis. Rest seems to be key in most things I’ve read. There’s not as much blood flow to the tendon, so it lengthens the healing time quite a bit.
