Have you or Mike considered working fly’s year round? Or slight downhills (1-2%) for greater eccentric loads?
Ex: Day 1: 6 x fly 20m @ 90% working on technique, progressing to faster runs but always focusing on form and posture.
I think it makes sense that if you have great accel but weak top end then you work the top end year round. but my question would be how do you implement and periodise this?
It seems an unwritten rule that you go accel -> max v -> short speed end.
If you go straight in at max velocity how do you stop yourself stagnating? Can it be done by varying the volume through out the year or by doing 3 weeks fly’s then week off and then another 3 weeks?
The idea very much interests me!
