McCabe you should try it. I think 2:05 is a great time for a guy like you who comes from primarily a sprinting background, especially on your first go. I know a distance kid on my team who can go 2:02 and he’s absolutely no where near your 100/200/400 times, probably 14/26/54 at best. If you can develop the endurance and get used to the race I think you could do really well, I wouldn’t be surprised to see you go 1:5X pretty quickly.
