Most of those weights from UK sprinters and hurdlers were from a presentation given by a coach over here on weight training in 2007. The PRs and weights were well researched at the time, so will have been accurate then.
No way was Edwards 72kg. His best lifts were later in his career when he was bigger. All we see on paper was 132@72 or 73. Unless there are vids and they actually knew their weight when they did the lifts, i would be sceptical. To athletes it’s like asking the random gym go-er what do you bench.
Alot of athletes have a boost of confidence when they have a good power to weight, so wouldnt surpise me if they fib about their weight. I go from 77-82kg in the year, obviously im stronger when im heavier. I could easily say my best power clean is X and im 77, but really i did it at 80-82. I know guys personally who do this.
