I don't think it is worth the risk of injury or getting kicked out of his gym. I don't think it is going to give such an incredible benefit that couldn't be replaced w/ medballs and other exercises (ie pulls).
i am not saying to drop standard weights in the gym bc that would be stupid, but why would you use medballs to replace dropping the weights? I had the same problem today, i was during clean high pulls and some dumbass told me not to drop the weight – boy did i let him have it. if i ever had to give up dropping the weights i wouldn't be during power clean, i would switch to hang clean, pulls from floor, and snatches etc. my body just cant take not dropping the weight, maybe its all mental.
