When I long jump I do something really weird with my second to last step. I run on the balls of my feet the whole run up, but on the second to last step I hit with my heel like I'm taking off then I do the same thing with my takeoff foot. It seems like I am also shortening my second to last step. Is there a way to cure this, is it affecting my performance much?
You last two steps should be "rolling" contacts with your penultimate step typically being slightly longer.
