So when is the point of diminishing returns? Do we work on power and strength and allow the squat to keep rising provided that the vertical jump is still increasing? So when the squat keeps moving and the vertical remains unchanged, has the athlete gotten strong enough?
Or is it a question of training regiment? The speed-power athlete is not going to squat as often as a WSBB guy because that is not his goal and his frequency of lifting is far less. While he is working on his squat, he is concurrently training as a speed-power athlete. Whereas, WSBB guy maybe doing heavy sled pulls and other activities that are fast-twitch killers.
