It's a do-able double (to say a mouthful). Most people don't remember that at the 2000 NCAA outdoors, one of the fastest relay carries there was Melvin Lister for Arkansas. This was after a pretty good LJ/TJ double if I remember.
Anyways – you just have to have a plan. Certain meets may force you to focus on one or the other based of the schedule. Be prepared for that! Trying to finish your jumps in the finals is tough after a hard 400.
You'll need to balance your workload over the course of the week. Approach runs are still speed work, so you'll need to figure out how you factor in some special endurance runs.
