Regarding protein supplementation post-workout, it is quite beneficial, but there is literature to actually indicate that protein supplementation PRE-workout has a greater impact on protein synthesis and protein ingestion post-workout. That isn’t to say you shouldn’t have a PWO drink or that it isn’t very important, just to say that you should be adequately fueled before your workout as well for optimum training effects. You could add in your creatine either pre or post-workout to your recovery drink and do quite well.
Sounds like you’ve done your research on this topic so I’ve got a question…I thought this was more true for BCAAs than protein supplementation? If not, what are the time frame, dosage, and type recommendations for pre-workout supplementation to enhance the effect.
