I dont want to get into specifics directly, but one session involved a 300 followed by a high number of 150s. That would have been the highest volume sprint session. In the early GPP there is some sort of tempo work, but with a greater emphasis on aerobic capacity (which I hate) than actual tempo. I dont do tempo the rest of the year – I hadnt heard of it until about a year ago, and its only in the last 2 months or so that I realised pretty much everyone in the US does tempo. As far as I know, no-one in the UK does it.
Are you Scandinavian? Does tempo play a large part in the training plans of people over there?
