I take it 4-5 times per week. As I get closer to competition, I will take it less frequent, and less of a dose, so that when I do compete I get a much better boost. I take anywhere between 160 and 320 mg, depending on the session, how I feel, etc. The upper dose tolerance for me is about 450-500mg, at which point I start to feel very sick (Birmingham GP this year, in the final, 6.71 – on the start line my stomach was burning!)
Im big on caffeine, I think it is really useful to use in training. What are your thoughts about it?
Some people say it can burn out your CNS if you train on it too frequently but I drink coffee or redbull everyday before I train, except maybe on an easy circuit or tempo day.
Maybe that’s why I am slow….lol
I couldn’t imagine training with out it.
