So after four months of not checking in, working out when possible, and coaching, I shook off the rust in a windy, rainy Oregon meet today.
100m: 7th out of 26 in 11.58 (-1.9 m/s)
200m: 2nd out of 30 in 22.69 (-2.5m/s)
While I am not particularly happy with either of these times, I am happy to have a couple races under my belt and not have embarrassed myself. The 100m was blown at the start. I got left in the blocks, which is to be expected in one’s first race of the year. The 200m start was better, and I found the second half is still the better part of my race. I cam around the bend in 4th, and ran down two of the three in front of my by the end. Not a bad opener, given the weather and fact that the competition is in the middle of their season.
Next up, a 400m.
