For example, if I only did clean with 170lbs and under, how would my max go above where it already is (245-250) when I am not working even close to the weight? If I work at the same weight all the time, what training effect am I getting in the first place? Again, that study is flawed because they compared athletes w/ different maxes using the same weight. Ronnie Coleman isn't super explosive, but I am pretty sure him squatting 300lbs will be much much faster than me squatting 300lbs.
