summer is here and my high school track season is over. What kind of a training routine should i develop for the summer for the discus…should i lift hard or none at all or moderately? Should i go out and throw every day..? …thx for responding
>You should rest if you just got done with your season.
>Then in the fall do easy lifting reps over weight then do some tech throws, and plyos.
> After that when mid fall rolls around hit the weights hard with few reps and high weight. And during that do more intense throwing till the preseason. (try to use a slightly heavier implament for practice, and a light one for speed work)
>During the pre-season and season do mainly tech work and easy lifting low weight but explosive. and throw with a lighter discus/shot to make you faster in the circle. And a few days before a meet throw a heavier weight
>And the cycle begins again…
