I think you will see good times if you back off of some of the volume the week of this big meet even if its only like 5 or 6 days out. I guess it depends on how much to back off and how fast you want them to run. At that point in the season though chances are they will be rolling pretty fast and you won’t need to back off much. Like you mentioned planning a recovery week for that week would probably be all you would need. If you do much more than that then you probably will sacrifice some at the end of the year and obviously that is more imporant.
This is pretty much my thinking, but I wanted to ask. With it being a recovery week, I figured I wouldn’t have to back off too much, but the meet I am speaking of is the Penn Relays, so I obviously want to make sure they are running on all cylinders for the meet. However, regardless of the meet (even Penn), I don’t want to take away what they could do at the state meet. Thoughts?
