People have told me i need to do a more “specific” squat to get my jumping ability better. Forget specific, just focus on getting stronger in the gym and the specific stuff will be done elsewhere.
One eighth squat would more specific to jumping, which is what 90% of guys at the gym do and surprise surprise, they cant jump. I do this all year round https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li2gAohXl_k this deffinately made me a better jumper in general because i did this more than anything else, even more than track work. Im no scientist so im not gonna blab on about technical points, just pointing out something that works.
Also, try a natural vert jump stance, i do the same for everything, standing long jump, vert, cleans, squats.
