but don't you think that doing track work before sprinting negates your ability to truly push yourself in the gym and thus hinders the develpment of max str? if this is the case, then don't you think it would be in someones best interest to have at least have one day/week where max str is prioritized (if the atheletes relative str is not that good liike mine)?
for example a setup could be:
mon-speed/accels/plyos/weights
tues-ext tempo
wed- ME squat/deadlift 3×2-3 reps… then either right after or 4 hours after: track work in the form of SE/special endurance/or sprints depending on the goals, followed by the remaineder of the weights session(ie assistance and upper body movements)
thurs-off
fri-speed/accels/plyos/weights
sat-int tempo
the weights days on teh speed days would also be heavy but the wednesday session is where you';d really try to hit PRs every week… any comments on this type of setup??
ps: this is under the assumption that speed work before weights lowers the lifting numbers.
