This week is an intro week for me, basically waiting for the present squad members to come off their current cycle and join us for the start of the GPP next Monday.
Today’s sessions
2 Laps of soccer field (run straights, walk sides)
6 x 100 @ 75% strides on soccer field, R30s
Another 2 laps
Dynamic Warmup (various movements)
My new coach wants me to focus on heel recovery so we are starting each session with lots of running A’s and running A’s into transition 20m. He wants me to focus on closing the angle between my heel and butt to aid recovery mechanics and ‘stepping over’.
Another focus is ripping my hand down, past my pocket, in an aggressive manner.
We then moved into:
3x3x60 @ 80-90% in racing flats on track. R3min / R8min btw sets. We just rolled into these. He was timing me between 6.9-7.2h off a rolling start.
Warm-down -> 2 laps like warmup / 4 run thrus like warmup
Then went to gym for some intro lifting
