Looks good for a decat guy.
Since a lot of your time can’t be dedicated towards endurance training, pacing work is definitely the best way to go. Seems real low volume but I can’t judge at all because you decat guys handle CRAZY stress with all your training.
Thanks Aaron. Yes, is pretty low volume if it were 1500m pace work – but what you’ve got in that workout is:
100m at a little slower than 400 pace
200m at a little faster than 800 pace
300m at 800m-1k pace
400m at 800m-1k pace
500m at appr. 1500m pace
If I’d run it all at 1500m pace (100 at 19, 200 at 38, 300 at 57, 400 at 76) then I’d think I would need to double or triple the volume.
Would you think if I added the time trial type approach John outlines above – just gradually extending the distance at my 1500m pace – onto the tail end of that workout – that I would get the needed slightly additional volume – and endurance work?
