Sorry for no update in awhile. I ran the modified 5/3/1 up until last week. Got decent strength gains, legs are kinda tore down. The last two weeks I went 6 sets of 2 reps, first 3 sets on the lighter side of heavy, around 100 pounds lower than 1rm for squats, deads, etc, and using really explosive contractions. The last 3 sets were just heavy doubles. Pretty much kept to the same running workouts. The last part of this semester has been busy has I was swamped with schoolwork and trying to raise a couple grades up, ended with a 3.0 gpa, best I’ve had in a few semesters. I also had a very close family member pass, so that has thrown some kinks into things. I’m back at my hometown training at the city rec center (tiny weightroom, 114 meter track). I’m gonna try to really mix things up this week and possibly next week as well, going lighter on squats, deads, and their variations, focusing more on olympic lifts, pylo’s and running. My accels are starting to feel alot better. I’ve had some problems with a little bit of being burned out mentally. I’ll update more frequently.
