One thing to remember is that Thomas is an old man (joke). He might not be able to physically handle a highly specialised training schedule – and so a more generalised one might suit him better.
Dont know if I should thank you or not Craig , ho ho, The below is a sample of what a planned weeks training looks like for 3 weeks out from now which will be week 11 of the plan when things are a little more specialised tell me what u think Craig, Nick or anyone.
Sunday – Long Jump technical( suggestions for this Nick would be great like air mechanics) plus intensive tempo ( 4 x 300, 3 min btw, 2 x 250 , 3 min btw)
Monday – Speed endurance 350 4min, 200 4 min, 150.
Tuesday – Rest
Wed – Sled Session 3 x 35 , 5 min recs, 3 x 20 , 3 min recs, 2 x 10 , 2 min recs.
Thursday – Rest
Friday – Olympic Lifts plus short body weigh circuits.
saturday – Rest
Every day I do Core and Flexibility work including rest days
Todays session was speed end, 350 ( 50.86), 4 min rec, 150 (20.12) , 4 min, 100 (14.06). All freelap timed usig touch pad. Followed by 2 x 200 easy tempo ( 33 sec).
the Benfit of increasing my Aerobic base has really started to show with this type session, 3 weeks ago the 350 was 55 sec, the 150 was 22. This has dropped each week consistently , lst week the 350 WAS 52 and I nearly died, so the 50.86 this week I am really pleased with as I didnt feel too bad after.
