Anybody mind telling me whats the worst thing about this 10m start that needs fixing ?
I know im not low enough, and that my glutes arent firing, anything else that is more important ?
Solutions ? Possibly Mike would chime in ?

Hey I’m new to the forum and I have a similar problem to yours.
My coach recommended that I practiced on staying low by lunging stadium steps and stuff like that.
I’m also practicing on driving all the way out of my blocks with my lead foot and making sure my first step is a powerful one.
hope this helps,
JDH
Not the best angle but I’d say:
*Arms looks wide in blocks
*Hips look low in blocks
*Knee recovery looks too low
*Turnover is too quick (insufficient pushing on ground)
*Posture is poor (mainly because chin is tucked)
*Transition to upright posture is too slow

*Arms looks wide in blocks i can fix that
*Hips look low in blocks I figured that.. ill see what i can do
*Knee recovery looks too low umm, does that mean i have to lift it more ?
*Turnover is too quick (insufficient pushing on ground) that will increase my contact time, is that a good seacrifice ?*Posture is poor (mainly because chin is tucked) thanks, i didn’t see it…
*Transition to upright posture is too slow
hmmhh
THANKS for the time mike !!
does that look like something you personally could work on ? are those things very common with your athletes ?
does it look like i made some progress ?
Try using short, quick steps (like a piston) at the start. You have very long strides…
I hate short quick steps at the start bc most athletes end up spinning there wheels.
Well my coach is retarded then.
not really, some coaches teach the piston action but i perfer JS style more of a cycle action.
I prefer that too, but when my coach told me that, I figured that that was the only (good) way to do it. Now I revert my statement. I feel like I’m running in the air with no forward motion when I do piston action (kinda like when you’re on the stationary bike and you are going really fast and then try to pedal but there is no resistance lol). JS?
