    2 “hard” sessions pr day

          I have read about the training of some top athletes and I saw that one of them had put all the hard training on only 3 of the days in 1 week.

          This would seem more logical than spreading it out in the week. Bacause with this approach the hard days will be tiresome but u are sure to recover on the other days.

          It was something like this:

          m: m:easy 10km evening easy 10km
          t: m: 6×5 min AT e:6x1000m
          w: m:easy 10km evening easy 10km
          t: m:5x300m, 5×200, 5×150 e: 10x80m hill sprint
          f: m:easy 10km evening easy 10km
          s: m: 6×5 min AT e:6x1000m
          s: m:easy 10km evening easy 10km

          Think it would be a good idea? instaed of having 4 hard days pr week, or use 10-14 day cycle to get in the quality work

          When you say 6×5 min AT what does that mean? And I can’t speak for everyone but when I do mileage I wouldn’t count that as a session but at the same time I wouldn’t recommend no rest. What distance is this an example training programme for?

          this is a 1500m/3000m runner. 3.40/7.55 level.
          AT=anaerobic threshold

          Would a 1500 athlete of that calibre not have a more varied training programme?

          this is about what he does yes. This is even during competition period.
          His pb`s on 800m is 1.51. Suprisingly fast consedering the slow training.
          Around 135 km pr week

          I think its a sprinters mentality to have rest days. And probably it wont hurt a sprinter.
          But for middle and long distanse runners I think 2x10km easy can be recovery. Do you take away that session each week it will be quite big drop in total milage. And milage is the key factor in this program

          If you add all that up, it would be less than 100 K per week and so boring that it’s amazing the poor guy doesn’t quit. Seems horrible to me, but I am sprint-oriented.

          this is more than 100km. just the 4 easy days is 80km.
          then the threshold session maybe 10km and the 6x1000m =10km including warmup/jogdown
          So around 130-140km
