Something is wrong with the jump runways over there. The elite jumpers barely managing 7.90 and 16.80 …

Nothing to do with the runway mate…
Pfaff is in trouble! uh oh…
-
I do not think the runway is at fault either. The Australians looked prepared to compete.
I didn’t know it was possible to look easy in the 60, but Chambers is looking like a winner for sure.

What are the names of athletes who are coached under Pfaff’s guidance and compete during these indoor WC?[/quote]
Greg Rutherford in the LJ.

Everyone always jumps worse indoors than out anyway…but shiiiiiit, 7.80m? this time last year 8.00m.
Chambers is silly! pure class.
Congrats to ex MC alum Aliann Pompey, made 400m final.

So an athlete possibly underperforming is always the coaches fault….. Interesting.
I thought you liked Pfaff.

That’s what I don’t get. I think Pfaff call those type of athletes workout warriors in his dvd.

Don’t get what?
I do like him. Had good convo’s with him. No problem with him at all.
Think about it. Greg pb’d at each major over the last few years. indoor Pb last Euro indoors. Outdoor Pb and British record last World Championships…He performs well at majors…then jumps his worst ever this indoor worlds…
Changing to a drastically different program may have caused an issue…no?
-
Is the evening session up for replay yet?

If he did change to something dramatically different maybe, maybe not. He also may have an injury or maybe his bro is bonking his ole lady, you never know and just to assume that it’s the coaches fault isn’t fair to the coach.
-
Didn’t say it was his fault. And i spoke to Greg in detail in Vienna and i know that the program is VERY different to what he was used to before. Everything from the warm up to the workouts, all different.

Speaking of that…
how does the qualification actually work? Clearly you don’t have to hit the standard to get in…
A few guys in the LJ got in without jumping this year OR having ever hit the standard as well…
I don’t get it.

Qualification period was from January 2009 till now.

By the way, anyone knows what happened to guys like Moffitt and Bayer in the long jump? Injuries? Long jump is a strange event.

Robles and Jeter looked unreal in their heats. Both left a lot on the blocks, both were trailing quite a bit, both were clear at 40-50m, both eased down haha!
I’m predicting 6.95 for Jeter. 7.33 for Robles …
Well i was more or less spot on with Robles
Not with Jeter though … buckled under pressure again
-
Argh!!!! can’t stand that pole vault chick…she’s soooooo f-ing cocky and she fucks up AGAIN!

She’s a joke, her coach should smack her ass.

Awesome stuff! Somewhere on this site a couple of years ago i said that he would break the world record. Now he’s got one of them!
-
I think it was in the born for one thing thread along with Ben.
I hope he can build on it for the outdoors, he produced his best performance indoors last year (17.58) and looked as if he could of done with ironing a few things out. He’s jumped 17.90m today and without sounding critical can produce more, HUGE POTENTIAL -

Mortac how was it random? You were a jumper right? are you telling me he hasn’t been fouling those distances for some time…when he jumped 17.58m is was obvious he could go a lot further…

Check out his youtube page https://www.youtube.com/user/teddystar93#p/u
Its got a good history of his progress -
I heard the jumpers were jumping into a headwind from the A/C. No joke.

lmao at the A/C

did anything think this was an ugly jump? i mean, obviously it wasn’t a bad jump because it’s the new indoor world record, but the landing on his 3rd phase was pretty funky. i’ve heard a lot of people say that some of their best jumps were their worst looking.

I thought it was the best piece of triple jumping I’ve ever seen. His landing is a beast

From this video i thought he could break the record. Becuase here his run was horrible and he jumped off pure bounce…
The 17.90m run was excellent though. He is an amazing talent.
