          I thought it might be fun for some to start a prediction thread for this season…

          I will start with a few predictions of my own…

          1) Bolt – 19.06 & 9.50

          2) Gay – 19.34 & 9.58

          3) Jeter – 21.70 & 10.55

          4) Claye – 18.12m

          5) Watt – 8.72m

          I’m predicting there will be a jump over 18, but not sure who will.

          I think there are 3 jumpers capable right now of 18m. Hasn’t been like that for a while. So i’m sure someone will do it. 18.29 though? Hmm i doubt it very much.

          Hard to make predictions when so few have raced or competed yet, but I’ll make this one: Spearmon goes under 19.4 this year

          Asafa Powell to run 9.7 looking ridiculously easy in the OG Semis, only to run about 10.1 in the final after everyone passes him at 30. That guy has yet to find a race he could not lose.

          Apparently Gay isn’t doing 200s at all this year. I also heard that his first race might be the US trials – he is struggling with injury, so I can’t see really fast times coming from him.

          Steve Hooker is having major issues too – he can’t commit to take off as he has a fear of breaking the pole. Unless you have some inside knowledge?

          Finnish javelin – predictions:

          Tero Pitkämäki over 90m (hopefully something like 92m)
          Ari Mannio 88-90m
          Antti Ruuskanen 88-90m
          Teemu Wirkkala over 85m
          Sampo Lehtola over 85m

          I think also that Thorkildsen is going to throw far, somewhere close to 92m.

          Wish that other events could be as good here in Finland :)Unfortunately the javelin seem to be the only event that we can do well. Maybe we are doing something wrong here in sprints, endurance etc..
