Being faster is a desirable quality in almost every sport. Many people mistakenly think speed is completely attributable to genetics and there?s littl [See the full post at: 3 Quick Fixes to Sprint Faster Immediately]
Im new to the forum but have been reading posts and articles etc for around about a year now and it has proved to be very helpful.
Im 22 and began athletics august 2012 and finished the season with 10.83 and 21,36 100m/200m.
My first 60m after two months training i recorded a 7.12 PB. 2 weeks ago in london i recorded a 7.14 and 7.16 and am not sure what has gone wrong.
After reading this post im thinking it might be due to a change of technique.
Last year i did no speed work whatsoever in the winter as my coach did not believe in it so i took it on myself to do it myself by doing one accel and one max v day a week and changing my technique ( ive watched a few lectures on loren seagraves sprint mechanics etc)
So i thought my pb should have improved a lot with a whole year training behind me but in fact i ran slower than my first race ever.
That way it will keep any info you get together, assuming you’re the same Jake James (which looking at your times is almost certain), I actually have a video of us doing the 200m at the BAL match at Derby last year. Start yourself a new thread and I’ll post up the video as it will make giving advice much easier if they can see your technique first hand.
