Just wondering if you guys had any tips for an old guy trying to ramp up for some masters meets when I hit 35. I've been trying to get back into shape with mostly 200-300-400-600-800 interval workouts, not a lot of miles…3 to 5 max once or twice a week mostly in hills. My times currently are 100m: 12.2, 200m: 25.6, 400m: 58.6. I've only been back at this for about 4 months without lots of sprint work so the short times will get better. What I really need help with is some periodization. If someone could provide me with a general framework that I could customize, I would be terribly grateful. Mike, I'm in your neck of the woods in Alexandria, LA, so you know what kind of heat I'm dealing with…makes anything over 4 or 5 miles tough this time of year.
