I am currently Bulgarian squatting in place of regular squatting because my left leg is stronger than my right. Problem is, it isn’t helping. My stronger left (posterior portion primarily) is much more sore after the workout and furthermore I actually felt my left glute (perhaps the glute ham tie-in? I’m not well versed) working more actively at the bottom of my squat than the right side. Must be a mechanical problem right? Don’t even suggest that I wasn’t going to parallel on the right side because of course that was the first thing I thought of and I can assure you I am. What could it be, bar position? I’m stumped.
Also, what is the difference between setting the top of your back foot on the bench vs the ball of the foot?
