Have any of you used the Bullet Belt before? I have been doing some looking for ways to better my athletes starts and came across this. Is it worth the money to buy one of these? If so what types of drills do you recommend?

To improve their starts, get them stronger or perform drills like explosive med ball throws (squat throw diving onto a HJ mat). To improve their acceleration try using a light sled or just run short hills (20-30m). Bullet belt provides too much resistance and I see no benefit of the sudden release of said resistance.

I’ve used one and while I think they are ok it’s really tough to regulate / standardize resistance. Also it makes someone else work very hard as well….something you don’t necessarily want an athlete doing during their rest interval. I’ve seen some sprint coaches use them prior to meets as part of the warmup but I can’t speak to their usefulness in this regard.

Have found it quite accpetable for block warmups prior to meet racing. The Trainer works better for us in sprint sessions.
