Great post! Another thing that works well in settings like this is to let them recover a bit. I like the numbered workouts rather than days. They’ll miss some and take extra rest days which is good.
I also like doing challenge sessions. Stuff that is tough, but fun.
Hill work is good and can be done in almost any weather.
Bodyweight work can be done where it is as challenging on the muscles as lifting, but easier on joints (IE – weighted pistol squats instead of squats, handstand push-ups instead of bench press, muscle-ups).
Kettlebells are affordable and a sets of swings are a great tempo alternative. See who can do 100 burpees in the shortest time period.
