Hey guys, starting to do some organized training again in preparation for the 2013 season.
info on myself: Turned 20 last month, going into my junior year at Northern Illinois University as a Physical Education major. I compete for the NIU Track Club that I co-founded as a freshman(NIU does not have a men’s track team, only womens). I am currently the President and Sprints Coach for the club.
I was injured my entire freshman year with a strange shin muscle pain, completely cleared up now after lots of stretching and foam rolling. Last year showed promise but had setbacks and ultimately got injured after the last indoor meet.
My main focus this season is to keep my lifting consistent, I didn’t start weight lifting till my senior year of high school and I got a lot faster. This summer has been all lifting(not able to run most of the year due to a hamstring problem I had suffered the first week of march) I have improved my squat to 270(senior hs best was 225) as well as my hang clean to 165(previous best was 125).
Squat: 300lb before first meet.
Ran at a meet this summer(july 26th) ran the 100 in 11.0(ht) and the 400(waterfall start) in 52.8(26-26), hadn’t ran a workout since early march so the results were better than expected.
