There are some guys out there who can jump 40" from a stand still, and others who can sore over 40" from a run (olympic high jumper) but with a lower standing. Aside from the standing leaper having more strength, what are the other factors making this so? Does the ability to run and jump way over your standing mean you have a strong stretch reflex? I'm just curious because there is a guy on our football team with a 42" standing vertical (higher than mine) but i can out jump him from a run off one foot. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Difference in standing and running vertical
