          Dwight has been doing some serious jumping lately. He’s already my favorite for World’s this year as well as for the world record (soon). Whatever speed regiment he’s been doing lately, it’s working.

          Yeah he looks good…

          Too be honest though i doubt it’s his new speed training…i will get his exact speeds when he does a British GP, but i am sure he isn’t faster on the runway than he used to be. If anything he is just running at a lower percentage of his max and thats why he is more consistant. BTW that 8.61m was a foul and he got lucky…then i felt that he went back to old self for the rest of the meet…very low, tight and was forcing the big jump…

          He looked a lot smoother at Pre…When someone who runs 11 m/s at the board only jumps 8.01m you know everything must have been horrible.

          I also think the WR might become his as well…

          Although, you heard it here first, Fabrice Lapierre will also challenge the world record one day.

          I think losing 25lbs this year (according to him) is a significant factor.

          Yeah, actually yesterday was the first time i could really see his weight difference…he looked so tiny in the background of one of the camera shots…he looks more muscled but no bigger than Saladino…

          bad 2008 season + losing sponsorship = a lot of motivation

          Seriously, he’s lost weight, his approach was changed a little bit and he’s carrying more speed at the jump. I’ve always liked Dwight. I got the opportunity to train with him a few times when I lived in Arizona. He’s also coached by Loren Seagrave now and I’m some credit belongs there as well.

          I’m not exactly sure when. I would imagine it was either last year or the year prior.

          Does anyone think training with Poliquin caused his performance decreases?

          Phillips goes to Poliquin and gets hyooge.

          Yea I thought he did work with Poliquin in the 2004 Olympic timeframe then sucked while he was with Tellez.

          I think he should get in some races and see how he performs. 10.06 as a jumper is just… wow.
