i was at one of the high performance centres in England today and i saw a physio working with a few of our top athletes. He was putting to electric stimulation pads on various parts of their body and then they stretched that part of their body 2-3 times. this was repeated for abbs, quads, hamstrings, calfs. I overheard him say that this technique does for the muscle what 30-45 mins of stretching would normally do. He said that it gets the muscle back to ordinary length very fast.
He left before i could ask him more questions. Ive not heard of this, but he was saying its fantastic if your not a full time athlete, because i usually spent an hour a day in college just on recovery.
Can anyone tell me more about it? how much? what frequency? and how?
