Hello! I’ve been coming here for years, but have never had a reason to post. I’m coordinating a junior high track program and need some help getting it up and going.
We are about to finish basketball and will begin track workouts on February 18th, with maybe some light running the week before that. We will be doing some testing to determine which athletes will run which events. After this, we will begin isolating workouts to their individual races.
Can anyone suggest a two-week plan to get us started with endurance runners (800 and up)? I have some ideas, but don’t have enough pride to realize there are those out there that know more than me. Keep in mind these are junior high guys; our first track meet is February 28th (running only, no field events)and our district meet is April 10th.
