After Beijing one of my athletes came to a crossroads with his career. Hector Cotto represents Puerto Rico and competes in the 110m hurdles. No Fall as we started in January. We had poor hours of use (8pm -10pm so lifting had to be scheduled on weekends). No budget for therapy.

Any insight into your thoughts re: weight of the medball or implement? My male sprinters/hurdlers are currently using heavy balls (12-17 lbs) from static start positions on acceleration days and lighter balls (8-10 lbs) with a counter-movement on max velocity days, in an attempt to make training complementary. How about progression through the year? Percentage of throws from various start positions at various points of macrocycle? -

Push chest pass throws with an run off works for acceleration days and counter movement stuff with low drop distances seem to do well. I like to train the phase in advance with the lifting and medball things so that when I get into the phase they have some preparedness for the training theme. Example hip snatches work great for max speed.
Medball tosses and training load is enforcing a faster finish than when started.
