    Girls sprinters training schedule

          Ok Mike a friend of mine needs a off season sprinters workout schedule I was just wanderin if you could help me out with that.

          train them like a guy. theres a few differences but for the most part humans respond to the same training.

          Yeah, but women would benefit more from strength work than speed work. Speed endurance and speed reserve is the key for women, top-speed for men.

          Ok so when I train her for track weights is the key is that what you are tring to say.

          No. Strength work through running. Hills, long tempo, things like that.

          I had a female sprinter I coached in high school who had an injury so that she couldnt run but could lift weights. This is during Indoor Season. She worked hard in the weightroom. Made huge improvements in upperbody strength. Some improvement in lower body. Got her back so that she could start training in Early March. Had a meet one week later. She ran a PR in that race for the 100 and 200. Weights was definitly the difference. She was a junior at the time.
