I’m almost certain it isn’t the same quality as twinlab (can’t speak for biotest) but you have to make a cost / effectiveness analysis to decide which is better for you. I’ve used some GNC products from time to time and don’t have a problem with them.

The products that I’ve liked the price of at GNC is the Accelerade and the Endurox. I’ve been able to get the month supply containers for only $20-and even less than that if I buy them the first week of the month since I have a gold card.

How well does endurox work for you?

I think it has helped me get over “the hump” in terms of being able to up my mileage and intensity. It’s not the best tasting stuff in the world, but if you mix it up ahead of time and refrigerate it then it’s not too bad.

I’m usually reluctant to use any supplements, but Endurox and Accelerade seem to help.

Have you tried the pill form?

          What is the endurox?

I have not tried the pill form

For info on Endurox (and this is not an ad, just sharing information) go to:

We found Countdown to be better than Endurox – including the taste. Vanilla, especially. In addition, we found that it also mixes better. Contains more L-Glutamine per serving, in addition to L-Leucine.

With the Gold Card, you get a better savings procuring the 4 lbs. container.

The ingredient ciwujia in it is Sweedish for siberian ginseng(a friend who is studying to be a pharmacist told me, so I’m not entirely sure how correct it is). It works but you gotta take it everyday religiously he says.

The carbohydrate to protein ratio of Cytofuse is 3 to 1 as opposed to 4 to 1 with endurox. Does that make much of a difference?

My only beef with GNC is that i think their products are overpriced.

That’s why you gotta get the Gold Card. I haven’t tried the countdown, but would be willing to do it for the better taste alone. The Endurox tastes like when you puke and then some comes back down your nose 😡

          What’s the scoop with cellbioenergy?

Sorry i was refering to GNC’s line of products specifically. $30 (or $24) for 2 pounds of WPC doesn’t do it for me when you can get 5lb for $25 online.

Haha, fruit punch flavor? It does take some of the nasty taste away if you leave it out for a while like you said.

Xcell bioenergy is a startup nutrition company. They seem to put a lot of effort into making high quality products. A free sample was sent my way a couple weeks back and I was very pleased with the quality and taste.

I was in GNC yesterday and looked at Countdown. I was a bit skittish about the amount of simple sugars in it as well as it’s muscle building claims. I almost got some just for the chocolate flavor alone. However, I talked to the employee whom I consult with the most and he didn’t think it would be a good idea for distance runners.

I worked briefly with a female middle distance runner that used Countdown in her workout recovery process during marathon prep training. To my knowledge, there were no negative effects.

No, I wouldn’t go so far as to claim negative effects, but the amount of sugar seemed to be superfluous to me. Kind of the same thing you get when you drink gatorade as opposed to endurox.

But if it works then I”m all for it.
